On our American Rambler Student Group Travel tours we tackle the open road in a large and cozy modern van (A/C, tinted windows, good sound system) that will get you from destination to destination throughout the whole of the trip. There is space enough for everyone and their bags for Student Travel.
This is a camping-style Cheap Student Travel tour. We overnight at campgrounds in national and state parks and recreation areas amidst the most beautiful of settings. You don't have to hike to the campsite. Once at the campground we park the vehicle next to the campsite. Each campground is unique. All come with restrooms and showers. Some campgrounds even have a swimming pool, laundry facility, and onsite general store. When on a Budget Student Travel tour, we provide all the camping supplies including tents. Each 4-person tent is large enough for 2 passengers and their stuff. But you would be responsible for bringing your own sleeping bag and sleeping pad. If you do not have one, we can get you one at a low cost. On good nights some people drag their sleeping bags outside and fall asleep under the stars.
Food
is $10 per person per day. This all goes into a giant food fund
for the whole group. Every other day we will hit a store and load
up on fresh groceries that we keep in coolers and dry packs. A typical
breakfast is cereal, toast, yogurt, coffee, tea, and juice. A typical
lunch is a sandwich, chips, and fruit. It's a bit different at dinnertime.
We usually have an evening cookout and whip up fresh and tasty meals
like stir-fry, meat and chicken recipes, pasta, salads, camp casseroles,
burritos, etc. There is always at least one vegetarian on each trip.
So if that's you, not to worry. Each meal is put together so that
you can have it without meat. Each Student Travel group shares in the organizing and cooking of dinners. Occasional restaurant stops at passengers expense. If you have a good recipe please write it down and bring it. Some of our best meals have been from the recipes of our passengers.
Participation is a big part of our Student Travel trips. The more you put into this Student Travel trip, the more you will get out of it. These daily tasks will bring you closer to your fellow passengers. It is only with team spirit and everyone chipping in that we will have a successful Student Travel trip.
Are you traveling alone? No problem! Most our passengers (80-90%) sign up solo. American Rambler Tours attracts solo Budget Travelers who already share a lot in common: passion for adventure and a love for travel. How many times have you planned a trip just to have it fall through because your friend(s) could not commit? Well, leave them behind this time and make new friends on your journey! We also get couples (some of our best passengers are spirited couples) as well as small groups.
American Rambler Tour leaders are extensively trained with hands-on experience. Each is a capable leader and understands Student Group Travel dynamics to ensure the smooth operation of the Student Tour,
while adding their own unique talents and personality to the fun. Our
Travel Leaders know the best places for fun and activity, viewpoints, areas of interest, and the most scenic and efficient routes. With their help, you can discover more than you could ever find on your own
Budget Student Travel tour. They have also been instructed in first-aid and emergency procedures, safe driving, and vehicle maintenance.
There is a song that says traveling light is the only way to go, and we agree. Laundry facilities are available at most of the places we stay so you may want to do a wash midway through the trip. This is a list of the basic items you will need for your Student Travel Deal trip. We will send you a more detailed checklist when you sign up.

What
a wonderful time I had while taking your Mountain Madness tour.
I was able to see more wildlife and nature in that one week than
I have in the last 5 years! Its amazing how some time camping in
the outdoors can recharge one’s body and soul. The hiking
was great!

Thank
you for a great trip! The pace of the tour was great. There was
always something going on and never a dull moment. Between the hiking,
whitewater rafting, and mountain biking, and canyoneering you kept
me going all along. I even liked mountain biking so much I went
out and bought a bike and now I am hooked!

Thanks
guys for a fantastic time. I was a little hesitant at first about
going on a trip by myself but you were right about how the group
quickly comes together. I couldn’t have met such outgoing
and adventuresome people had I not done this. And I still keep in
touch with them on a regular basis. I loved it so much I plan on
doing another tour next summer!

Where
did all the time go? I had so much fun the time just flew by. Everything
was better than expected. The food was great, the people were outgoing
and engaging, the activities solid, the national parks were spectacular,
and the campgrounds were clean. I told my friends about American
Rambler Tours and hope to get a whole group together for a future
Rambler.
